Call this a soft launch of our very own Tennis Retreat in May 2026.
Some people go on beach vacations. Some people go on tennis trips. We decided to combine both, properly.
Now, let’s talk about the real reason this retreat exists: Marco.
We created this retreat for people who love tennis, but also love long lunches, ocean views, and not rushing anywhere. For players who want to improve their backhand… and their tan.
Marcoaontonio, Sanfelino’s founder, has always been passionate about tennis, and right this moment he’s proving difficult to beat. The word “passionate” might be an understatement. Two months ago, he won the Club Tournament at Club Cartagena. He is not (yet) the regional champion… but the way things are going, the city title seems to be in his sights.
To be honest, once Marco starts talking about tennis, it’s very difficult to stop him. I’ve been mid-marketing meeting with him – serious agenda, spreadsheets open – only to look up and find him lacing up his trainers, searching for his hat, zipping up his tennis bag, and still discussing Colombian market trends… while slowly inching toward the door.
Finding worthy competition has become increasingly difficult. Apparently, Cartagena isn’t overflowing with players ready to take him down.
And so… this retreat was born.
Consider this your formal invitation to come and humble him
The Setting (It’s almost unfair)
The villa is something rather special.
It’s just a short boat ride from Cartagena, but it feels like another world entirely. Trying to describe it is difficult, but let’s try:
You wake up.
In front of you: a crystal-clear blue infinity pool.
Beyond that: a bright blue tennis court.
Beyond that: the Caribbean Sea, equally blue, equally distracting.
The house itself is warm and sandy in tone, so the blue absolutely pops. Normally, photos oversell a place. You arrive thinking, “Ah… clever angles.”
This villa does the opposite. The camera can’t quite keep up.
You get there and realise the scale, the colours, the light – it’s all better in real life. Which is mildly inconvenient for marketing… but wonderful for you as you will be splendidly surprised when you arrive.
Let’s get to it – TENNIS!
Each day includes a structured three-hour clinic designed to refine your technique, sharpen strategy, and build confidence.
You’re going to need it if you plan on taking Marco down.
Mornings are for focus. Afternoons are for friendly match play. Evenings are for replaying “that shot” over dinner.
And yes, the court is technically open 24/7. There are no lights, however. So if you bring night-vision goggles, we’ll know how serious you really are (or competitive).
The group is small enough so everyone gets court time, but big enough to feel like you’re part of a big family. Small enough that no one hides at the back of the drill, big enough that dinner conversations never run dry. We’ve kept it intentionally intimate. With a maximum of 12 people, there are enough players to create energy on court, but few enough to ensure every rally, every clinic, and every conversation feels personal.
Evenings unfold slowly here – welcome drinks at sunset, beachfront dinners under the stars, a relaxed BBQ night where stories get better with every retelling.
There’s something about sharing a court that accelerates friendship. By day two, everyone knows each other’s weaknesses, only worsened by a few too many glasses of wine from the evening before.
BEWARE – Some have warned that that’s part of Marco’s psychological strategy.
But where will I sleep?
You have two choices.
Option 1: Oceanfront king-size.
Private. Spacious. En-suite.
You fall asleep to the sound of waves and wake up to Caribbean light. It’s the “I take my recovery seriously” choice.
Option 2: A shared twin room. The fun option.
Perfect if you’re joining with a friend or arriving solo and open to making one. Spacious, comfortable, en-suite, and ideal for those who enjoy the social side of the retreat as much as the sport itself.
Both options include accommodation, meals, drinks, daily clinics, boat transfers, and a Sanfelino Tennis Welcome Kit.
Yes, it’s all taken care of.
So Let’s Clarify…
Do you like long lunches?
Do you enjoy friendly competition?
Do you value experience and comfort as much as your game?
Would you rather train in the Caribbean than a grey indoor court?
Do you think you can beat Marco by the end of the retreat?
If you answered yes – especially to that last one – it would be an honour to host you in Cartagena from April 30th to May 3rd, 2026.
Pack your racket.
We’ll handle the rest.
And truly – someone needs to come put Marco in his place. Choose sun over snow this spring, choose tennis over skiing.
